Salters AFC - Premier League Champions 2010/11

Salters were crowned Premier League Champions after beating Abbey Athletic 6-1 at Poltonhall. The only team that could catch Salters were Boca Seniors who lost at home to Oxgangs 3-2 on the same night.

Salters have been top of the Premier League since beating Ryrie’s Alba 7-1 way back in February and have not lost a league match since early September. After that defeat Salters went on to win 9 and draw 3 of their remaining 12 fixtures, claiming a fantastic 30 points from the 36 available.

This is the first piece of silverware Salters have won since the club started in October 2006. Salters are hoping to make it a league and cup double when we face Oxgangs in the final of the association cup on Sunday 29th May.

There have been many people over the years that have helped Salters slowly progress up through the leagues and to eventually win the Premier League. We would like to thank each and everyone one of them for their contribution over the years, this league title is as much for them as it is for the current team.

Well done lads, this is a fantastic achievement.
