Salters AFC's first ever competitive match after a lot of hard work and planning. Many thanks go to everyone who helped make this happen.

However this was not a great game to watch or play in. Salters in the end got the three points and scored 6 goals, however they did not perform well at all.

Goals in the first half from Paul Milligan, Paul Nelson and Kenny Adams put Salters 3-0 ahead. Castlebrae pulled one back to make it 3-1 at half time.  Salters also missed several easy chances with Paul Milligan and Richard Murray both missing sitters.

The second half was just as bad.  Although another goal for Paul Nelson and a double from Richard Murray put Salters in the driving seat. Castlebrae scored an excellent goal with the attacker running half the pitch before slotting home. Man of the match Ryan Newton gave away a penalty for the other Castlebrae goal. Again Salters missed several sitters.

On the day Salters did not play well. However we got the three points and in the end that’s the most important thing.

Salters will have to improve 100% next week against Dalkeith; however we know we can play a lot better and look forward to the challenge.
