Match Report

Salters lost 3-1 to a really good Redhall Star team on Thursday night and in truth the better team won the game comfortably.

Salters opened the scoring with a good passing move. A good through ball into Paul Milligan who turned the defender and played Paul Nelson through on goal. Paul Nelson then took a touch and blasted the ball high into the net. This was a well taken and well crafted goal.  Salters had another couple of chances including a good move down the right hand side and a cross from Mikey Thomson saw Paul Milligan head just wide. Paul Milligan also had another half chance after taking down a throw in and shooting low into the far corner, however the goalkeeper saved well.  Redhall equalised after a good cross into the box. The striker headed home from 16 yards in off the post.  Redhall also hit the post and bar and had a few other good chances. They should also have had a penalty.

The second half was very disappointing from Salters. We failed to create any chances and we were second to every ball. Redhall passed the ball well and had many chances to score. Eventually Redhall scored from the penalty spot after a foul was awarded against Mikey Thomson.  The third goal was a cross from the right hand side that was slid into the net from close range.

Redhall deservedly won this game and Salters can have no complaints about the scoreline.

Salters will have to learn quickly, changes will be made for the trip to Broxburn on Sunday.
