| Match Report | Salters lost out to Dalkeith in the League Cup at Easthouses in a very entertaining match. Salters took the lead on four occasions, only to be pegged back every time. Dalkeith stole the victory late on. Salters went 1-0 up through Paul Milligan, 2-1 up through David Jamieson and went in at half time with the scores level at 2-2. In the second half Salters went 3-2 up through Richard Murray and then 4-3 up through Richard again. However slack defending meant Dalkeith levelled at 4-4. The game went from end to end and either team could have won it. However Dalkeith were awarded a free kick on the edge of the box and scored to make it 5-4. This was a really entertaining end to end game that Salters should have won. We played some good attacking football and created chances. However our inability to defend as a unit let us down on the day. The management take a share in the blame for this defeat and can only hope they learn for the future. This defeat means Salters must beat in-form Redhall Star to progress to the semi-final.
