| Match Report | This Scottish Cup last 32 match against an excellent Motherwell side was just a step to far for a young Salters team. Salters work rate and commitment cannot be faulted but on the day we were beaten by a very good team. The first half was an even affair, plenty of spirit and some decent play by both teams. Salters had one or two chances, in particular a header from Stephen Crawford from a corner flew just over the bar and Stephen Brown was unlucky not to lob the goalkeeper from just inside the box. However we went 1-0 down when an extremely soft penalty was awarded after a challenge by Ryan Newton. The Motherwell forward calmly rolled the ball home to make it 1-0. The second half was all Motherwell, they went 2-0 up and really that was the game over. However Paul Milligan had a chance from a quick free kick taken by Paul Nelson and should have hit the target, however the shot flashed just wide off the far post. Had it gone in we might have mounted a challenge. As Salters poured forward to try and grab a goal we got picked off on the break and Motherwell ended up convincing 4-0 winners. No complaints from Salters. Best of luck to Motherwell War Office, everyone at the Salters wishes them well for the rest of the season and especially in the Scottish Cup. Team: John Paget, Mikey Thomson, Kenny Adams, Ryan Newton, Darren Smith (Kris Murdoch), Stephen Brown (Ryan Ramsay), Shane Thomson, Stephen Crawford, Paul Nelson, David Jamieson (Richard Murray), Paul Milligan.
