| Match Report | This was a very disappointing result for Salters after the good win against Dalkeith last week. However it was the performance more than the result that was most worrying. Salters never really showed up. We didn’t pass the ball, close the other team down and never really looked like getting anything from the game. Too many of the Salters players showed up with the wrong attitude and we paid for it. Salters took the lead despite playing into a very strong wind. A scramble in the box led to a shot deflecting in to the top corner. After this Salters fell apart. A mistake from Goalkeeper John Paget allowed the Abbey forward to tap the ball home from two yards then slack defending allowed them to take a 2-1 lead into half time. The second half was no better from Salters as Abbey went 4-1 up. At times Abbey played some excellent football, passing and moving off the ball and it was very hard to cope with. Salters pulled a late goal back after a magnificent run from David Jamieson, beating half the Abbey team after running from his own half and rounding the goalkeeper. It finished 4-2 to Abbey and in truth Salters cannot complain in any way about the score line. This was not an acceptable performance from any of the Salters players.
