Salters suffered their first competative defeat of the season in a cup match versus Premier League outfit Boca Seniors.

Boca were leading 1-0 at half time after a free kick in a wide area rolled through the packed box and into the far corner.

In the second half Boca went 2-0 up through a penalty. Salters got one back after a good ball from Michael Jones sent Paul Nelson through on goal to slot home. Boca went 3-1 up when another long ball wasnt dealt with the forwards scuffed shot rolled home. Paul Nelson got another goal back after an assist from Mikey Thomson. Late on Salters might have levelled when the ball was cleared off the line. However we never deserved anything from the game and Boca held on for the win.

This was the worst Salters performance for a very long time, we didnt do any of the basics right, didnt pass the ball and even the workrate of the players was called in to question for the first time. This was a massive disappointment for all concerned. However let's hope it was the wake up call Salters needed and move on to the Scottish Cup next week. There must be a massive improvement and changes to the team will be made.
