| Match Report | Sallters easily beat a very young Tytler AFC in the Scottish Cup to progress into the 3rd round draw. Tytler only had 10 men and the average age of the team must have been 17 or 18 years of age. It was all one way traffic, attack after attack from Salters and after we got in front we went on to win 16-0. There were some brilliant goals, Paul Milligan with a superb over head kick and also a 20 yard chip over the goalkeeper, David Jamieson with a magnificent volley into the top corner and Paul Nelson with an unbelievable 20 yard volley right in the top corner as well. Other highlights included Mikey Thomson getting his first goal on his first appearance since rejoining the club, keeping a clean sheet and Steven Faughnan getting a tap in goal after missing sitter after sitter. However Kevin Robinson missed the worst of the lot, clearing the ball off the line when it was impossible to miss and passing it backwards to the Tytler goalkeeper. All in all it was a non event. Tytler didn’t really fancy it from the start and it turned into a farce in the second half making it virtually impossible to keep concentration or interest in the game. There were a few Tytler players who kept trying and worked hard for the team and they deserve credit, however it was a comfortable victory in the end. Best of luck to Tattler AFC for the season ahead. Team: John Paget, Kris Murdoch, Steven Illingworth, Ryan Newton, Darren Smith, Blair Mathewson, Stephen Brown, Michael Jones (Mikey Thomson), David Jamieson (Kevin Robinson), Paul Nelson (Steven Faughnan), Paul Milligan.
